President George Bush has nominated Ben Bernanke to succeed Alan Greenspan as chairman of the Federal Reserve.

“I USED to think if there was reincarnation I wanted to come back as the president or the pope…but now I want to come back as the bond market. You can intimidate everybody.” So said James Carville, Bill Clinton’s campaign manager. If he had thought about this a little bit harder, he might have wanted to come back as the chairman of America’s Federal Reserve—the man who puts the fear of God into the bond market. (Reuters)

    Markedene har i alle fall reagert positivt, Ben Bernanke er vel etablert med stor kunnskap og erfaring.
